🔥 How to Identify a Shift

This weekend, I had the privilege of attending the wedding of one of my dearest childhood friends in Utah. Watching her step into this new chapter of life had me reflecting on my journey and the season of life I’m currently in.

We often think of New Year’s resolutions as the starting point for new beginnings, but there’s no reason to wait until January 1st to start building the life we want. As I step into a new chapter in my career (more on that soon!), I wanted to take a moment to reflect on how I knew it was time for a shift. And if you’ve been feeling the same, maybe these signs will resonate with you:

Energy Levels: I noticed that the work I was doing—mainly tactical, social media-related tasks—began to drain my energy. My soul was aching for more. Journaling became a powerful tool to identify what I wanted more of, and what I was ready to leave behind. One of my favorite sayings is, “How you spend your days is how you spend your life.” If your daily routine doesn’t fill you with purpose, maybe it’s time to make a shift.

Curiosity: I found myself drawn to longer-form writing and storytelling, something I never considered part of my identity. Yet here I am, writing to thousands of you each week. It reminded me that we often shy away from labels or titles, like "writer," because of the judgments or expectations attached to them. But leaning into those curiosities can lead us toward growth.

Reflection on Past Joys: My happiest career moments? Driving to my mentor’s house, working alongside a team, solving problems together. Now, I work mostly solo, and I miss the collaboration. This reflection pushed me to ask: How can I recreate that sense of teamwork in my current life? Sometimes the answers are in the experiences we cherish the most. I’ve also been drawn to community building—exploring initiatives like Creator Funds that support collaboration and growth.

Building Tools for Passion: Recently, I’ve spent time finding tools to streamline my work so I can focus on what I love. One of my favorite resources? A dictation tool that helps me capture ideas quickly (link below) .

As I continue building the life I want, I’m constantly asking: How do I create a career that aligns with my passions and values? Through AI tools, the support of this community, and the inspiration from all of you, I’m making small decisions that will lead to big accomplishments.

💡 My question for you this week: Think back to a time when you felt most fulfilled. How can you recreate that feeling in your life today? Forget about the blocks—whether they’re financial, logistical, or otherwise—and focus on solving the problem backward. Every little step adds up to the life you envision.

Your task is to reflect on an experience when you felt most fulfilled and describe how you can recreate that feeling in your life today. Follow the steps below to complete the task.

Step 1 - Think back to a time when you felt most fulfilled. Describe in detail the experience and the emotions you felt.

Step 2 - Identify and list the core elements that contributed to your fulfillment during that time.

Step 3 - Forget about any blocks—whether they’re financial, logistical, or otherwise. Focus on solving the problem of recreating those feelings backwards. Outline how each core element from Step 2 can be achieved in your life today.

Step 4 - Consider every little step that may add up to the life you envision. Describe how you will take these small, concrete steps to bring that sense of fulfillment back into your life.
