DEEP DIVE

🔥 What 10 Days in the Ocean Taught Me About Running a Business

After spending 10 consecutive days in the ocean while in Hawaii last week, I came away with three lessons that will shape how I approach my business and leadership vision.

1. Clarity comes with depth.

On some parts of the island, the water was crystal clear; on others, it was murky and unsettling. Swimming in a vast ocean, surrounded by coral, without knowing what lay just a few feet below me was intimidating. But when I dove deeper, the water became clearer. The deeper I went, the more I understood my surroundings, even though the fear of the unknown still lingered. The same applies to business. When you push beyond the surface, clarity emerges. While it may feel uncomfortable, diving deeper into challenges can bring you a clearer vision and a stronger understanding of what lies ahead.

2. You don’t have to go it alone.

As a confident swimmer, I thought I could handle being alone in the ocean. But the unpredictability of the sea proved otherwise. On days when I felt uneasy, I asked Josh to sit nearby on the beach. Knowing someone was watching from a safe distance helped me overcome my fears, even if they weren’t entirely rational. In business, you may be the one steering the ship, but having someone to check in with or simply be nearby can be invaluable. Surround yourself with those who understand your journey and can provide support when needed—it can make all the difference.

3. Change your environment to reset your mind.

Each time I jumped into the ocean—whether it was morning, midday, or evening—it shifted my focus entirely. The experience forced me to concentrate on my safety and breathing, immersing me fully in the moment. This change in environment was a reset, helping me re-center and approach my work with renewed energy. In business, too, a change of scenery can be incredibly refreshing. Whether it’s a new workspace or even a different routine, stepping out of your usual environment can sharpen your focus and boost your productivity.

As I write this from my usual spot at home, I realize the impact a fresh perspective can have. It’s a reminder that, sometimes, all we need is a shift in surroundings to spark new ideas and fuel progress.

AI TRENDING: AI APPLES SPARK A FRENZY

Travelers Flock to Canada for a Bite of this Unbelievable Fruit!

Spoiler alert: they were disappointed.

A viral Instagram post of glowing purple apples ignited a modern-day treasure hunt in Saskatchewan. Crafted by Unnaturalist AI, the images claimed the apples thrived in cold climates, offering a strange "cinnamon and banana" flavor and linked to ancient traditions. Enthralled by the vision, curious visitors flocked to local orchards.

However, local horticulturist Rachelle Hofmeister quickly dispelled the myth, explaining the fruit was a digital illusion. Still, the appeal of these unreal apples reveals how easily AI fantasies can blur into belief, underscoring the urgent need for sharper media awareness in our increasingly digital world.

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen AI impact our consumer habits and it’s definitely not the last!
