2 of my “goals” recently have been to de-clutter my living space and to figure out the quickest way to learn about new AI tools. Below are 2 ways I have done that this year:

• Using deep learning models, MIT researchers discovered a new class of compounds that can kill MRSA, a deadly antibacterial-resistant infection.

• The compounds showed the ability to kill MRSA in lab dishes and mouse infection models, with low toxicity to human cells.

• The nonprofit Phare Bio plans further analysis of the compounds, while the researchers design more candidates and search for antibiotics against other bacteria.

"Using a type of artificial intelligence known as deep learning, MIT researchers have discovered a class of compounds that can kill a drug-resistant bacterium that causes more than 10,000 deaths in the United States every year."

TLDR: MRSA is really hard to treat and easy to get if you don’t take care of a staph infection, this drug could help cure MRSA!
