How to Get Better at Prompting
I’m going to show you a peek under the hood of one of my favorite processes. My last bullet point tells you why this is important.
😮 What is the problem I’m trying to solve?
My goal is to give you insights into solving your marketing problems– quickly. Marketing can mean so many things to different people, here’s how I like to think about it:
Everyone has an audience. I mean everyone.
What do you do? Make this your genius lane.
How can more people discover that genius lane?
How can you activate that audience to work / partner / buy / hire your genius lane? Aka: call to action
Let’s rinse + repeat: scale it to make it easily repeatable.
🤔 What’s my genius lane?
Write down one thing you do or the job you do.
TBH: That’s not a great prompt. As the saying goes: garbage in, garbage out.
🧑🍳 Optimize
Go to prompt perfect to optimize your prompt.
For example, I typed in that prompt above into the optimizer and it gave me back this:
🚀 Let’s scale it
We love a juicy and tactical section:
Go to the arena section in prompt perfect (on the left)
Past the optimized prompt (the green one from above)
Make sure you include “write in first person” in your prompt
Compare all the responses from the different LLM chatbots (Claude, Llama, GPT 4o, etc.)
Choose the copy that you most resonate with
Viola! You should be posting on LinkedIn once a week, you just created a very strong draft for a month of content in less than 3 minutes.
In the practical advice section of this specific copy, I would include more personal experiences or personal anecdotes here to further connect with your audience.
You don’t want your brand voice to feel too generic.
🕵️♀️ Why is this important?
Companies need this skill. And they are hiring a ton of jobs for it.
I’m talking cool companies, too. Ones that make charts like this, that we reference all the time:
